"Willie and Pat do a Slow Dance” is looking at Andrew and Margaret Handy’s relationship as what they like to do together as well as what they enjoy doing separately within a 55 year marriage. In a more detailed sense, it is approaching their relationship to change, time, and mortality. Looking at the shared history as a “slow dance”.
This project was produced while both of my grandparents were alive, and this is work is to honor my grandparents love for eachother, themselves, and the way they raised me.
